Thank you, thank you to all of you who have come to this blog to peek at us. We love each and every one of you and hope you keep on peeking even though we’ve moved. The vision of pigeons is only getting bigger.

Starting to play around with a new idea. This Pigeon head, a sculpture in truth, is the beginning of something beautiful. Please, do yourself a favor and check back to see what came out of a day with multiple cameras and this glorious head (made by our very own T-bird).

We are all very excited about 2012. Good things to come this year.

As you might have noticed we don’t seem to be “doing” much…other than posting the most AWESOME Pigeon images you can find. But here is a little update on our current shenanigans.

Since we do not all live in the same city, (Pigeons in Seattle, Bellingham and Olympia) it can be hard to get everyone together but we do our best! We spent New Years together eating crab and salmon and dancing the only way we know how (hard). It was a fabulous way to bring in 2012!

Here is a brief update on the pigeons!

Adam – Currently workin’ hard in print production at a local fine art print shop in Seattle and building sweet flat files in his down time. If there’s one great iphone photographer in the world, it’s the Chef. Adam hosted our flock for a New Year’s feast / beer tasting. mmm-Mmm-MMM!

Aimee – Biggs has two loves in life. Coffee and art. Sometimes she combines the two. It’s called the Best Latte Ever. Aimee is working hard at Olympia Coffee Roasters while dreaming up large scale installations and carving 4′x4′ woodcuts. A new forearm tattoo is in the works as well.

Joe – This Pigeon recently had a show up in Bellingham of work created during his (paid!) summer internship at the Shannon Point Marine Center. Never without a camera around his neck, we are encouraging Joe to experiment more with video in the coming year. And wind-up toys.

Megan – Still covering shit with money. And rockin’ it all the way! She works at the SAM now. So if a lovely redhead politely tells you not to touch the Do-Ho Suh, you better listen. Cause that’s our honey money in uniform. Megan is moving to Fremont in the next few months, and we are SO EXCITED!

Teresa – Carving carving carving! T-bird works all day, carves all night. She is currently workin on a new woodcut that looks incredible. Expect to see some badass prints very soon! And this birds got other big ideas, look out Seattle, she’s motivated!

Tim –  This guy’s got his fingers in all sorts of print pies. He is currently working at three print shops in Olympia. Trilobite Press – a litho shop, Don’t Stop Printing – a screen printing business, and an offset print shop. This boy can’t get enough print. We’re all excited to see him back on the stone and printing again!

Wild Pigeon wood engraving

Seattle’s fresh and upcoming artist studio hotspot INSCAPE has been granted $10 million by the city! The plan was announced by city officials yesterday which will enable the renovation of currently unusable portions of the building into functional (and more importantly, rentable) spaces. The project has been underway since summer 2010, but red tape from the National Historic Register, asbestos and lead paint have prevented the building from running at full capacity. The new funds will go towards these problems, allowing the art community to finally move in and hold ground at the most exciting creative stronghold in the city.

Those are the details. Here is the magic:

INSCAPE is the place where creative people flock. It is always sunny at INSCAPE. There are ghosts at INSCAPE, but we think that they are friendly. Or at least glad to see some less official faces. Pigeon Vision will soon call INSCAPE home. Many others do already. You should hear them speak, because we haven’t heard a bad thing yet. INSCAPE inspires. INSCAPE unites. The project thrives by peerless leadership. There is nothing but potential at INSCAPE and the scrappy are headed there now. Once again – it’s always sunny. We look forward to seeing you there soon.
